Here at Warlords, we are playing more and more interesting Magic the Gathering. So much so that we are playing most formats, mixing formats and holding our own contests. Players are in most days with Magic decks and are playing all formats as casual fun. There is always likely to be an opponent at the shop, even one of the Warlords may except the challenge if the shop is quiet.
Every Friday Night, we host and Sanction a MTG event of some kind, limited to (7-9) players. Costs vary, (Freeplay/£5 Constructed/£10 Draft)
Once a month, we run a large multiplayer event called Rule the Coast. Hosted very close by at the Grafton Hotel, we can then increase the limit on number of players to 32 and offer very large prize pools.
During the Month we keep track of how well players have performed in the events we run,we call this the Champions League. The best player in our Store is honored with the title "Ruler of the Coast" and theTop Player in the Champions League at the end of the month may challenge for the title. The Winner of the Champions League wins a pick of one of our Mystery Prize Boxes, and the prizes not won roll over for the next month. Dark Ascension is Here
Well the Second Dark set of the Innistrad Block is here, and we have seen to hold our breath in anticipationfor the new planeswalker Sorin,
Wizards announce May 2012 set, code-named "Roll," is called Avacyn Restored. Although it's the third set of the Innistrad block, it will be a large set.
This means that Innistrad Block Constructed will be composed of all three sets, but Avacyn Restored will be drafted by itself. Sealed events will use six Avacyn Restored booster packs.
Liliana, of the Veil makes a dramatic entrance as one of the top planeswalkers in the format, a format which changed with her arrival, potential to her advantage.
Planeswalker Points is a replacement for the system previously used by Wizards to rate and rank Magic players' participation in sanctioned Organized Play events. It's a point accumulation system built on a simple premise: Playing is good; winning is even better.
At its most basic, Planeswalker Points rewards players for playing in sanctioned events (with larger and/or more competitive events awarding more points) and for winning matches (with 3 points for each win, 1 for each draw, and zero for each loss). You can't lose points for losing matches and you don't have to "spend" them to get the perks of a high rating, so your lifetime total never goes down*.
A New Warlords of the Coast Club has been created to look after the Games and Events we all enjoy at the shop. Along with the creation of the Club, a blog site has been created for the Warlords of the Coast club to create their own articles. Magic Knight will no longer appear on this page, or on this website.
We would like to thank the Grafton for allowing us to play our Rule the Coast and Wargaming events in their Hotel. It has been a big help to have a larger venue. However the era has ended, the summer season will soon be here and they will be too busy. Events will now all take place at the Warlords of the Coast store until further notice.

Rule the Coast Event Format Changes
It's not a great deal of change, but it is expanding on what we have already grown to love. The Grand Melee has moved to 1pm start from 12noon, and due to less prize support from the guys at Wizards, we had to change the prize pool for that event. Other than that, it's just a whole host of additions, including a Casual Games League that totals up through the day and we give away prizes at the end.
A very close and balanced race in the Champions League this month saw three contenders making their way to the Rule the Coast event to score some final all important points. Scott Morris came out on top of the Champions and was awarded the Mystery Prize Pool and a chance at the Title. Warlord Rob made his first defense of the title he so carefully won from Thomas Duignan last Month.
Thomas Duignan dominates the format at Warlords of the Coast, not unbeaten, not just lucky, Tom has achieved his run as Ruler of the Coast through consistantly good solid play. The Chase for his title heated up this month, with three contenders trying to make the most of theChampions League, Barrie-jon Knight stretched ahead and became#1 Contender and winner of the League.
Thomas Duignandominates the rounds, after drafting a mix of what can simply be described as UW-Control. Hot on his heels for the night and the Title, Barrie-jon Knight and Scott Morris, who both where a little unlucky during a few games. However, with Barrie-jon coming a solid second place, the Champions league race was over, and its a BJ vs Tom final.
